West Lancashire Football League Record

Seasons record: 2002 - Present

Furness Cavaliers joined the West Lancashire League in the season of 2002- 2003, mixed fortunes have happened over the past few seasons.
In our first season we had played 26 games, but only managed to win 4 and drawing 5.
2003-04 season faired much better than the previous season, with having played 28 games, winning 10 and drawing only 3 which gave us a point total of 33, and a finish of 10th place.
2004-05 saw us play 28 games, winning 7 and drawing 5 which gave us a total of 26 points and a league finish of 13th place.
2005-06 seems to have been one of our better seasons since joining the West Lancs League, the teams in the league all seemed to beat each other, apart from the top 3, even though the young Cavs side nearly took a point off 2nd place Croston Sports,for a goal in the final 10 minutes gave them a 1-0 victory. Thus this was the same at Thornton Cleveleys, (who finished 3rd), where up until the last 10 mins Cavs were locked at 1-1, Thornton scored 2 very quick goals to take the game 3-1.
Our overall record for the season was played 26, winning 8 and drawing 7, giving us a points total of 31 and a finish of 11th place.

West Lancashire League Honours

At the West Lancashire Football League presentation evening, held in Lytham on Friday 2nd June, winners of the Jim Towler Trophy were Furness Cavaliers. Secretary Paul Wright received the 2005/06 Fair Play Award from league President Derrick Procter along with a cut glass shield to celebrate the wonderful achievement. Cavs didn't have a player sent off in their 26 league games and received only 8 cautions, the fewest across the whole of the West Lancashire Football League.
